I've been captivated by the Northern Lights since my first visit to Fairbanks seven years ago. At every opportunity, I will watch them for as long as they appear. I will pull up a chair and sit by the kitchen window for an hour or more. And if they are particularly bright and colorful, I will drive out of town, up to the hills in the wee hours of the morning to get a better view.
