About The Great Hunter:

Men would go in kayaks and hunt along the way. They would be the providers and feel responsible for making sure that there was food to eat. They would travel along side of the families. Some men would have reputations for being the best hunters and they would tell their stories.

This kayak is made from a whale's rib bone. The figure in the boat is carved from the root of the driftwood with ivory teeth carved into them. He has ivory eyes with baleen pupils. He is wearing a parka with rabbit fur with otter ruff. His face is intense –– he sees his target.
